Greg Nicholl is a freelance proofreader and graphic designer. His poetry has appeared in such journals as Barrow Street, Natural Bridge, Feminist Studies, Smartish Pace, Arts & Letters, Crab Creek Review, and several other national publications. His book-length manuscript has been a finalist for the Carnegie Mellon University Press open competition and a semi-finalist for both the A. Poulin, Jr. Poetry Prize from BOA Editions as well as the Crab Orchard Series in Poetry from Southern Illinois University Press.

Greg grew up in the small town of Gig Harbor, Washington, located just off the Puget Sound. He earned his BA from Pacific Lutheran University, a small liberal arts college, and spent a year living in Marburg, Germany, where he studied German language and literature. After graduation he moved with his partner to the east coast.

He received his MFA in poetry from Sarah Lawrence College where he studied with Jean Valentine, Mark Wunderlich, and Kate Knapp Johnson. While attending the program, he hosted a monthly reading series at the historic Cornelia Street Café, bringing together poets from each of the New York area MFA programs. He also served on the editorial board for the literary journal Lumina working as production manager and designer.

While living in New York, Greg worked in the production department at Random House.

Currently, Greg is the web manager for The Cortland Review.
